SCHEDULE - Session 2 Workshops
2.1 Building Connections: Language, Globalization, the Global Citizen and the Impact of Policy
This workshop will draw connections between language, globalization and the concept of a global citizen, discussing the role that policy, and more specifically language education policy, plays in building this connection, with consideration of the policy implications for classroom practice.
2.2 Supporting Second Language Acquisition with Technology
A demonstration of how technology can be used to support language development. Discover how you can improve your teaching by integrating technology into language learning.
2.3 W.I.L.D. – Weekend Immersed in Language Development
This session will explain how Weekend Immersed in Language Development brings together fluent and bilingual students from a range of schools and universities with the purpose of providing a relaxed atmosphere in which they can practice their target language. Specific weekend activities will be described and demonstrated. Suggestions on how to offer similar experiences in schools, districts or states will be discussed.
2.4 Bilingual and Bicultural Babies and Toddlers: Exploring World Languages, Cultures, and Traditions from Birth through a Language Immersion Music Program
The main topics that will be presented in this session will help illustrate the importance of the language acquisition through immersion music classes.
